U-channels and headers

Channels and headers are the hardware that holds glass along an edge instead of at a point. A U-channel seats a fixed panel along the floor or wall; a header runs across the top of the enclosure and ties the panels together.

What we stock

• Aluminum U-channel in 96" lengths, one for 3/8" (10 mm) glass and one for 1/2" (12 mm) glass. The deep pocket secures heavy fixed panels.
• Shower Deluxe Header Kit — a 95" header bar with rubber, a 36" snap-in filler and two brass wall brackets.
• Brass fixed and adjustable corners for the deluxe header kit, where header sections meet.
• Brass wall mounting brackets, sold as a pair, and a header hinge adapter.

Match the channel to the glass

Channel is specified by glass thickness: the 3/8" channel will not take 1/2" glass, and the wrong size leaves a gap the gasket cannot fill. Confirm the glass first, then the run length. More header parts are listed under shower headers and brackets.

Finishes and stock

U-channel and the header kit come in Chrome Polished, Brushed Nickel, Matte Black and Satin Brass; the header hinge adapter in Brushed Nickel, Matte Black and Satin Brass. Stock is held in Medley, Miami.
