Shower U-Channels

Shower U-channels

U-channel holds a fixed glass panel along its edge, at the floor, the wall or the ceiling, without clamps showing on the face of the glass. Ours is aluminum, supplied in 96" lengths, with a deep pocket that secures heavy fixed panels.

Two sizes

• Aluminum U-Channel 3/8" – 96" Length — for 3/8" (10 mm) glass; package 96 × 0.75 × 0.56 in, 1.47 lb.
• Aluminum U-Channel 1/2" – 96" Length — for 1/2" (12 mm) glass; package 96 × 0.75 × 0.67 in, 1.38 lb.

Choosing and cutting

Order the channel for the glass thickness, never the nearest size: a channel that is too wide leaves a gap the setting material has to fill, and one too narrow will not seat the panel. Cut the 96" length to the run on site, and allow for the gasket or setting blocks in the pocket.

For channel used on railings and for header hardware, see U-channels and headers; for point fixings instead of a channel, see glass clamps.

Finishes and stock

Both sizes come in Chrome Polished, Brushed Nickel, Matte Black and Satin Brass, so the channel matches the rest of the hardware. Stock is held in Medley, Miami.
